We work with citizens to take greater responsibility in their local communities by conducting grassroots community service projects that engages volunteers, local businesses, and civic leaders. We work with citizens to identify key issues around our mission and tailor solutions that fit the community’s needs to make the greatest impact.

The Great Ghana Cleanup promotes community education through an array of workshops to encourage change in the attitudes and behaviors, conduct community cleanups, and litter removal to create cleaner public spaces and streets. The program also includes community greening initiatives in which we plant new trees and gardens that provide shade and sequester carbon for climate action. We use the program to engage our volunteers to collect data on uncollected solid waste in our communities to influence future decisions and policies for proper waste management.
